Walking on the boardwalk to the beach access we passed two elderly women enjoying the view from their lawn chairs. Later they walked to the water with the "younger" women guiding the more elderly woman. After strolling on the beach for a few minutes, they began the return trip to their chairs but the small sand lip was thwarting their efforts. Steve and I lent an arm to steer them back to their chairs and then grabbed our bikes for the return trip.

Barefoot Beach was our next ride and access was through an opulent subdivision. Signs along the road told vehicles not to stop so the peasants on bicycles eyed the real estate at a leisurely pace. Fortunately, many of the Florida beaches are public and we enjoyed a walk on the sand and a chance to admire the Gopher Turtles.
