Dali Museum

http://www.pbs.org

A few days previous, Steve was perusing the book,  A Thousand Places to See Before You Die, and it recommended a stop at the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida. Most of our cultural experiences in the past week were generated in campgrounds so we were ready for some diversity. Our route took us over the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, the most beautiful bridge I have seen thus far.

Dali was one eccentric man but the breadth of his work throughout his lifetime attests to his genius.

While we visited the museum, Tucker stayed in the Alto with the fan running. The fan runs off the battery but when the day is sunny, the solar panels charge it and keep him relatively cool. We opted for the hour tour rather than a self-guided audio tour and the knowledge of the guide juxtaposed with vignettes reinforced our decision.

We overstayed our time at the museum resulting in  arriving at the campground 15 minutes too late and being welcomed by a closed gate. After reviewing our options, we chose drive a couple extra hours and arrived a day early at an Alaskan friend's house just north of Naples, Florida-Phew!
